Jaylyn Woods 

       Jaylyn Woods is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is licensed in Texas, where she currently resides, and in Louisiana, her home state. She is a native of Addis, LA and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a minor in
Spanish and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana Tech University. Jaylyn has served in many different settings such as: IOP/PHP, community health, private practice, outpatient therapy, and within the school system. Within those settings she has served many different populations as young as 5 years old and as seasoned as 76 years old. 

       Jaylyn has focused on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Her counseling approach is based upon the individual's specific needs. She believes counseling is a collaborative effort between the clinician and the client. Working with the client helps to determine how counseling can be most beneficial for them based on all the different dimensions that makes them unique. She believes creating a safe and supportive environment that empowers individuals to reach their goals to contribute to their overall quality of life is most important.

Experience

Jaylyn's experience includes working with diverse age, gender, race, and specialty populations ranging from various groups. She has helped people manage and work through life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, family discontentment, substance use and abuse among other things.
